George Li returns to Winsor Music after winning the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition Silver Medal and a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, performing the Brahms Quintet for piano and strings in f minor, Op. 34 with Gabriela Diaz, Saul Bitran, James Buswell, and Rafael Popper Keizer. We present the world premiere of Portuguese composer Andreia Pinto-Correia’s quartet for oboe and strings, Dalla Legenda aurea, inspired by Piero della Francesca’s Legend of the True Cross and The Golden Legend, a hagiographic collection by Jacobus of Voragine. The program will also include Peggy’s thoughtful transcription of Brahms’s Three Chorale Preludes.
