My Journey to America

Another revival from the 2019-20 season will be My Journey to America, featuring Afghan composer Milad Yousufi and pianist Simone Dinnerstein. Yousufi is a pianist, composer, conductor, poet, singer, painter and calligrapher from Afghanistan. His work is deeply inspired by his country and culture and has been performed by groups such as The New York Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and the Kronos Quartet at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Boston Symphony Hall. Commissioned by a consortium organized by Winsor Music, My Journey tells the incredible story of Yousufi’s childhood in Afghanistan and his life a a refugee artist in the United States. Also on the program are works by J. S. Bach, performed by Ms. Dinnerstein.
